Fun With Candy

Most people like candy of some kind. It could be something sweet and made of chocolate or something that is sour and chewy. You can make candy gift baskets for all occasions with a variety of sweet treats depending on what the person would enjoy. Scale back the basket that you make to a smaller version if you plan on making gifts for a class or if there are several people you want to give something to, such as people in your neighborhood or residents in a nursing home. When you begin making the gift, you should think about what the person can eat who receives the candy because some people might be allergic to peanuts or might not be able to eat a lot of chewy or hard candies.

Instead of using a basket for the gifts that you make, you can use a small glass bowl, a vase, or a jar with a lid. Jars are convenient to use for candy gifts because the person who receives the item doesn’t have to transfer the candy to another container. You can tie a ribbon around the top of the jar or put a bow on the top. You could also put stickers on the outside of the jar that coordinate with the occasion. If you want to offer an assortment of candies or if you’re making a gift for a child, then get a tackle box or a craft storage box to use the compartments for different types of candy. Paint flower pots that coordinate with the occasion as well, filling the pots with all types of candy and candy bars on craft sticks. Try to find candies to use in your baskets that the person will enjoy as this will bring a bit of customization to the item instead of just putting any kind of candy in a basket.
