Welcome Y’all{Hobby Lobby Find!}

Look at this super cute sign that I picked up at Hobby Lobby not too long ago. It was part of their clearance of the “Spring” line. This was 90% off! I paid only $2.99. Isn’t that crazy?I love clearance sales, don’t you!?

Now, if you walk into Hobby Lobby, there may be some great clearance finds left, but you will now mostly see Autumn and Christmas items on the shelves. Are you ready for that? My hobby Lobby started putting all of that out in June. A bit early for my taste…but hey, now it is the middle of August, so maybe it’s okay! πŸ˜‰

Fun With Candy

Most people like candy of some kind. It could be something sweet and made of chocolate or something that is sour and chewy. You can make candy gift baskets for all occasions with a variety of sweet treats depending on what the person would enjoy. Scale back the basket that you make to a smaller version if you plan on making gifts for a class or if there are several people you want to give something to, such as people in your neighborhood or residents in a nursing home. When you begin making the gift, you should think about what the person can eat who receives the candy because some people might be allergic to peanuts or might not be able to eat a lot of chewy or hard candies.

Instead of using a basket for the gifts that you make, you can use a small glass bowl, a vase, or a jar with a lid. Jars are convenient to use for candy gifts because the person who receives the item doesn’t have to transfer the candy to another container. You can tie a ribbon around the top of the jar or put a bow on the top. You could also put stickers on the outside of the jar that coordinate with the occasion. If you want to offer an assortment of candies or if you’re making a gift for a child, then get a tackle box or a craft storage box to use the compartments for different types of candy. Paint flower pots that coordinate with the occasion as well, filling the pots with all types of candy and candy bars on craft sticks. Try to find candies to use in your baskets that the person will enjoy as this will bring a bit of customization to the item instead of just putting any kind of candy in a basket.

The Rock Crawler RC Car – A Fun Remote Control Car for Kids!

Check this bad boy out!

I recently got this Rock Crawler for my kids but mostly for my hubby–haha! No really! I thought my kids would like this. My hubby has a remote control car already, so I thought it would be fun to have another so that the kids can play, too!

This is a really cool car with big wheels. I guess I should say “truck”, because it is actually a truck. πŸ˜‰
It climbs over obstacles with ease, and is super easy to “drive.” My 8 year old daughter has no problems maneuvering this truck forward, backward, and all over our yard! It looks really cool, too–right?

So here are the stats! This is listed on Amazon.com.

This Rock Crawler Truck is Massive (1/14 Scale / Over 12 inches long), and makes a brilliant gift idea for any child or adult. 4×4 remote control car for kids with oversized tires enabling it to adapt to off-road and tricky obstacles in its path (off road, climbing over pebbles and large stones, grass and paving is not a problem)
The rock master rock crawler has high strength shocks you normally only see on more expensive RC car vehicles. This awesome rock crawler remote control car for kids even has fully working headlights!
BONUS! Comes with everything included, even all required batteries, plus even an extra set for the car itself – 6 x AA for the crawler and 3 x AA for the controller. It’s a much safer option than remote control toys that come with a rechargeable battery pack.

What do we think? This is a super fun toy! It is not designed to go VERY fast, so that it can be controlled easily by children as well as adults. It is a lot of fun to watch it go over sticks and rocks off road, as well as over pavement. We give it a thumbs up! πŸ˜€

Girls Day Out!

No school today, so my girls and I went out to lunch! We headed to McDonalds and grabbed a bite to eat. Jacey wanted breakfast, so that is what she got. Jadyn got her usual hamburger happy meal with apples. I went for a southwest salad today. I must say that the salads are looking better and better!

I hadn’t been to the Kmart in ages, so I wanted to stop by there afterward. It wasn’t exactly my girls’ idea of fun, {haha} but once we got in they enjoyed looking around. πŸ˜‰
They convinced me to buy them lipstick. I also picked up a swimsuit cover up for Jadyn–perfect for our vacation this summer and flip flops for her that she chose. 2 pair!

Jacey didn’t really see any flip flops that she HAD to have, so she didn’t get any.

When we got home, I did some planting. I started some seeds in a few pots indoors. Lemon Balm, Chives and Chamomile. Love those! πŸ™‚

Tonight family is in town, so we’ll be going out to dinner at Texas Roadhouse. Yummy! I really need to eat light. I have been eating those darn coconut macaroons that I made yesterday…ugh. BUT, they are soooooo good-and so addicting! πŸ˜€

Maybe I’ll post the recipe soon, It’s the best I’ve tried for coconut macaroons yet!

RebatesZone {Coupons and Promo Codes!}

Hey–let’s talk about shopping {and coupons!} I am a big online shopper. I just LOVE it! What is so great about online shopping? {As if you didn’t know!} This is what I love about it:

-I don’t even have to leave my house to shop.
-I can do so right in my pj’s if I want to!
-I don’t need to get my hair fixed and my makeup on. Ha!
-It’s just fun finding great deals! πŸ˜€

I have a list of favorites stores that I shop from frequently and I almost never shop without some sort of coupon. Call me cheap, call me thrifty…yep it’s true! πŸ˜‰

RebatesZone is a great place to find online coupons. They have over 5 million coupons on their website from over 10,000 stores. Here are just a handful of the stores with coupons.

I see coupons for stores that I like that I don’t normally see anywhere else…so that is awesome. πŸ˜€ You can search by store or you can search by category. It’s really simple and straightforward. Very easy to use.

What is great about RebatesZone is that they are continually testing their coupons to make sure that they are valid and that they work.
