Dinosaur park is one of the places we stopped at while on our vacation. Rapid City was our last stop. We visited family there and saw other fun places as well. Just wanted to share a few photos from this neat little place. 🙂
Dinosaur Park is located at 940 Skyline Drive on 20 acres and is home to historic life-sized concrete dinosaur figures. It is a very popular destination for tourists and local residents alike. Skyline Drive is a scenic roadway that runs along the hogback ridge that divides Rapid City geographically east and west. The dinosaur figures, constructed in the late 1930’s, are listed on the Register of Historic Places.
Yellowstone was amazing! We got to see “Old Faithful” and many other beautiful places. Here are just a few of the many photos I took while there.
Old Faithful Geyser!
Well let me start off by saying we had a GREAT time on our little vacation! It was awesome seeing everyone after so many years have passed. My mother & father are doing good, despite health problems. It was SO good to see them again. It was my girls’ first time meeting their grandparents. It was such a special time!
The drive there was long yes, but it was very exciting! Seeing all of the states and different things was fun. The girls did great, too! There was only one instance where Jacey was tired and couldn’t get comfy to sleep. That was when we split our trip up and stayed the night in a hotel. Ok, let me change that to MOTEL…lol! Was NOT a fan of the place, but it was 11:30 at night and we HAD to stop. It wasn’t a slum, but just not the greatest. :/
We slept, got up in the morning, had breakfast & was back at it. We arrived in Savannah, Georgia that evening at around 10:30-11:00 pm. So that was the drive there. The time we spent there was great. It also helped that we had a great hotel to stay in..lol. We had a nice little suite with separate bedrooms & bathrooms, a living area & kitchen. It was nice!
Monday we woke up refreshed and glad to have a good night’s sleep! We were also glad that we had no more traveling to do for awhile! So Monday morning we went downstairs and had breakfast in the hotel. It was delicious! They had so many things to choose from and it was FREE! Ha! Yes, this hotel offers free breakfast every morning, and free supper M-F! Woo-Hoo!
After breakfast we all got ready to leave for my mom & dad’s house. When we got there, my sisters were both there, my brother, one of my nephews, and brother-in-law. It was so exciting to see everyone. This is when my parents, one of my sisters & nephew got to meet my girls for the very first time! It was great! Jacey was a little shy (but only at first), and Jadyn was smiling & talking right from the start! 😀
After staying there for quite awhile, I wanted to show Jace & the girls around Savannah a little bit. So, we went downtown to Forsyth Park and down by the river on River Street. I took lots of photos in which I will have to share later. I have to get them off of my camera first! 😉
I recently found out that my mother’s health has took a turn for the worse. A last minute decision was made to take a trip to Georgia to visit my family. After weighing the costs, we decided we would drive to Georgia. I really wanted to see my family, as I haven’t since 2004 -at my wedding. A trip was LONG overdue.
Two days later, we are here! It took 2 full days of driving to get here, We left Saturday morning, and got here Sunday night at around 10:30 pm. Saturday night, we stopped late at a hotel and slept, then was back at it Sunday morning. It was a LONG drive that seemed like it would never end…LOL! Day 1 was fun, but on day 2 we were tired of it. Although I will say that we enjoyed seeing the states from the view of our SUV. Flying, you don’t get to see all of that, but then again, with flying you’re there MUCH faster, ha!
It was great, though! I forgot how beautiful Tennessee is. Breathtaking! As for Iowa, Missouri, Illinois, & Kentucky, it was all new to me. It was really cool! 🙂
Here are the states we drove through, in order! North Dakota, South Dakota, Iowa, Missouri, Illinois, Kentucky, Tennessee, and then finally GEORGIA! PHEW! 😉 What a trip!
So here we are in our hotel in Savannah, Georgia! Next post will be more about our hotel & much more–stay tuned! 😀
Ok, so it feels like I haven’t blogged in forever. It actually has been awhile. We went on vacation last week, and since we’ve been back, I just feel like I have to catch up on so much!
So about vacation: We took a trip to the Minneapolis area. We went to the Mall of America–which also has Nickelodeon Universe, and Sea Life Aquarium. The hotel we stayed in had a huge water park. Separate from the hotel, it was called The Waterpark of America. We went to all of those places & had THE best time. While at the Mall of America, we ate at Rainforest Cafe and also at Bubba Gump Shrimp company. (They were decent, but highly over-rated and a bit pricey!) LOL!
Wow-I haven’t blogged in awhile! Time to catch up, I suppose! 🙂
Just a couple of weeks ago we took our summer family vacation. We visited Rapid City, S.D. We had a pretty full (& fun) vacation. We started off on the road to Sioux Falls, S.D. We stayed at a hotel there overnight, to break up the trip to R.C. The hotel had a cool water park for the kids, and the girls just loved it!
The next morning (July 4th), we got the girls dressed up in their red, white & blue, and we were off! We made it to Rapid City a few hours later, but not before going through the Badlands and stopping at Wall drug. 🙂
We made it to our hotel, but this time we had a suite with LOTS of room. (YAY!) This hotel also had a really big water park area for the little kids. To make a long post short….we had the best time on vacation. We visited Mt. Rushmore, Black Hills Caverns, Thunderhead Underground waterfall, Flintstones Bedrock City, Bear Country, and a few other places. Phew! We were definitely making our rounds! 😉 We did a little shopping while we were there (a must!), and explored the city.
It was really a great time, and I have over 400 photos to prove it…LOL! Speaking of which, are all on flickr…but here are a couple from the Badlands. It was BEAUTIFUL there….
Yes, we took another vacation. 🙂 From Thursday to Sunday we covered a lot of ground. Thursday afternoon we arrived in Bismarck, ND. We stayed at the Seven Seas Best Western and had a blast at their water park. SO much fun! I even (for the first time) went down the big water slide. My hubby said I screamed like a little girl..LOL! Our girls really enjoyed it. This was Jacey’s 2nd time there-and Jadyn’s first. 😉
The very next day we went to the Dakota Zoo. It was a really nice zoo, and we had a great time. I think our favorite part were the big cats. They were awesome, and we even got to see them up close!
That afternoon we left for Pierre,SD to meet up with Jace’s parents, siblings & their families for camping. We stayed Friday night and Saturday night-then left on Sunday morning to come back home. We had such a fun vacation. Jacey & Jadyn loved being able to play with their cousins that they don’t often see. They loved the zoo and the water park as well.
It was actually our first family camping trip! We had a nice big tent, air mattresses, and all the supplies needed for the outdoors. 😀 Lots of fun! We can hardly wait to go again!
Wow-I feel like I have so much to blog about-that it will take me forever to write about it all…LOL!
I think I’ll start out with a quick rundown of each day-then go from there. 😉
We went on vacation last week to the twin cities. We left on Jacey’s 4th birthday [July 1st].
On the 2nd of July, we started out at the Mall of America. We went to the Underwater Adventures Aquarium, then on to Nickelodeon Universe…and then walked around the mall a bit. We had lunch at Kokomos Island Grill, then took the girls to Build-A-Bear. It was such a blast! The girls had so much fun-and that is what makes me happy! 🙂
The next day we went to the Minnesota Zoo. It was a lot of fun. We did a LOT of walking..LOL!
The very next day-we went to the Como Zoo & Conservatory in St.Paul and to Como Town. Como Town is a kids amusement park. Jacey had soooooo much fun riding the rides there! P.S.-She is SO a rollercoaster girl! I was quite surprised, but she rode a rollercoaster and LOVED it!
The Como Zoo & Conservatory was a lot of fun-because it was laid out so nicely and we got to see a lot of different things than we saw at the Minnesota Zoo. Como Zoo was smaller than the MN Zoo-but I think we all enjoyed it much more! 😉 Of course Jacey & I shared some cotton candy-and I even let Jadyn have a little taste…hehe!
On day 5, we left to come home. On our way back we stopped at the Albertson Outlet Mall-and looked at a couple of stores like The Childrens Place & Carters outlet.
