Hot Summer Days {so hot!}

It was like 95 yesterday! It was crazy hot….hotter than it had been in the week before. The best plan for that day was taking a trip to the splash pad at Shadow Wood park. I got a text from a friend suggesting that we meet up and go (along with other friends too) since it was still open, weather permitting until mid September. (YAY!) That was definitely a plan! So we went. The girls had a blast cooling off in the water and playing with their friends, while I had some much needed adult conversation with mine. It was a good day! πŸ™‚

A {fun} morning at Chuck E Cheese!

With school starting very soon, I wanted to pack in as much fun this week as possible! The girls have been wanting to go to Chuck E Cheese, so I decided to take them for lunch and fun! πŸ˜€

We went at around 11:30 and it was great, because there was hardly anyone there {no big crowds!} πŸ˜‰ read more

Sunflowers are Summer….

Sunflowers are a favorite of mine! I just love how big, bright & cheery they are. I saw these sunflowers on the side of the road while I was out on a bike ride. Just had to stop and take a couple of pictures & share! πŸ™‚

Summer time fun - 2013

I can hardly believe it is almost August! Before you know it, the girls will be back in school, and we will be back on our routine again. A certain bedtime, a certain time to wake up, homework…etc..
In fact, we have already started shopping for “back to school”…as far as school supplies go. We haven’t done the clothing & shoes shopping, yet. read more

At the Fargo Street Fair

This past Saturday we went downtown Fargo to the street fair. There were lots of people there, and lots of goodies to see. We didn’t buy anything while there, nothing REALLY spoke to me….but we had lunch at Jimmy John’s Subs, then later got the girls an Italian Ice. It was a fun day of walking around & exploring! πŸ™‚

Night to Unite in West Fargo

Last week we headed over to Elmwood Park for “Night to Unite”. Night to Unite is a neighborhood get-together, if you will…designed to bring the community together, strengthen partnerships within the community and to also get to know your neighbors! It also brings awareness to crime prevention and local enforcement efforts.

Some of the activities include face painting, getting to tour firetrucks, going for a ride on a police motorcycle, & much more! read more

Neighborhood Walk

The weather has been pretty nice lately. Yes, it has been hot, but not as hot as it has been this summer. In the evenings, it’s just right for a walk in the neighborhood. Just wanted to share a few pics from a recent walk. The girls collected all sorts of leaves and I found a super cute vintage truck to photograph!

A day of play!

After a lot of back & forth about what play set to get. Do we build one? How much can we spend? We finally went with a Rainbow Play System. We loved the fact that their play sets have a lifetime warranty. Their stuff is quality stuff. No joke. Not to mention we also got a great deal on it, and took advantage of the $99 delivery & install. We are very happy with our purchase, and are glad we went with Rainbow!

Once this play set was done, the girls were outside constantly yesterday! It was REALLY hot, so they took occasional breaks, but once the sun moved around and it wasn’t so bad out, it was hard to get them inside! πŸ™‚ read more

Summer Fun!

The girls love the water, as you can see! This pool was probably one of our better purchases as far as pools go. We don’t have to worry about it getting a hole in it and leaking. That seems to have happened to a lot of our inflatable pools. This is one is just deep enough without being to shallow OR too deep. πŸ™‚

Father's Day Weekend

Last Saturday we took a trip down to Aberdeen, S.D. to surprise Jace’s parents at the campground they were staying at: Wylie Park. They had no idea we were coming & were quite surprised! My sister-in-law, Rachelle & her family were there as well. We had a good time there-hanging out at the campground, taking the kids to Storybook land and the park. They had a great time! We were only there for one night, but it was fun! πŸ™‚

Here is a little mini-collage that I made with just a few pics I took.

School Is Out for Summer!

So yesterday, May 31st was the last day of school for my 1st grader, Jacey. Jadyn’s last day of preschool was last week. Now my girls’ are both out of school. I have to find lots of fun activities to keep them occupied. First off on the agenda is the zoo. Today is “free day” at the zoo, so we will definitely take advantage. They open at 10 am, so we are going to try & go in the morning sometime. The weekend is up in the air right now. I’m sure we can find something to do. πŸ˜‰ read more

Lets go to the red barn….

The other day, my girls said to me…”Let’s go to the red barn, mom.” Red barn means Children’s Museum. I’m not sure why they call it the red barn. I mean it is red, but it’s a house. It is a farm, though…so maybe that’s it. πŸ™„
Anyway, they love to go there. The Children’s museum is on Yunker Farm. Along with the Children’s Museum, Yunker Farm also has a playground, flower gardens, train rides, a carousel & more. Not hard to figure out why they want to go there right? It’s a fun place!

So last week, we went and had a great time! There was really noone there, so we pretty much had the place to ourselves! πŸ˜€
