Living Ready Pocket Manual – First Aid {Book Review}

I had the opportunity to review a book that everyone should have handy: Living Ready Pocket Manual-First Aid + Fundamentals for survival. I received an advanced copy via pdf file from Dr. James Hubbard. Now first aid is’t something we are always thinking about. At least, I don’t. It’s not always in the forefront of our minds, but emergencies are something that we should be prepared for. You never know when they are going to happen, so isn’t it better to be prepared? I never would have thought to pick up a book on first aid. My usual book is on theology, or maybe a novel…so when the opportunity arose to review Dr. Hubbard’s book, I accepted. I honestly thought that I could learn a lot from his book.

Dr. James Hubbard has a lot of experience and knowledge in emergency situations, as he is a medical doctor. Who better to write a book on first aid? πŸ™‚
His book covers many topics such as resuscitation, wounds, exposure, hydration and fractures.

My family and I live in North Dakota, and as of late we have had some really cold temperatures. There were days when it was -25 with a wind chill of -60, and those are some really cold and really dangerous temperatures. Nothing to fool around with. {We stayed in and stayed warm.} It was nice to read the section of Dr. Hubbard’s book on exposure, what to do and how to prevent it. I now feel more knowledgable on the topic, for sure. πŸ˜‰

Living Ready Pocket Manual-First Aid + Fundamentals for survival was really an easy read, and nice to have handy. Everyone should have a copy of this book in their home. You really never know when an emergency situation will arise. Be prepared.
